Xilence Gaming Edition Sps-xp750

Hello,So after waitting for an iMac forever, Apple managed to lose me (actually they managed not to win me), so I started looking at PC's too again and I see there are some great pieces of technology which Apple will probably take some time to catch up to.I want something fast and QUITE.- Asus P6X58D Premium - 253?- Core i7 920 or 930 - 245 or 275?, I don't know if the extra 140mhz are worth 30? I doubt it though!- Sapphire 5850 1GB or Asus 5850 1GB. For the Sapphire, 5 or 10 more for the Asus.

I have a tendency towards Asus, it seems quite solid product. Any reasons I should take the more expensive Asus over the sapphire? Performance wise I suspect they are the same, what about noise level? Anyone knows?- Hard disks, I will probably use the ones I already have, until ssd is cheap enough to move.- A DVD-RW (I will probably use the one I have again:p)- Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 - around 300? It's a TN panel with Led, I looked into IPS and PVA panels, but I don't like their looks and I only have 1-2 options here (they sell like 1-2 models for that pricetag and 1,2 models for 1000?).

Xp750 Ck

I have a Sony SDM X72 17 inches and I am absolutely satisfied. I think it's a TN panel (not sure, when I look at my Sony laptop from a slight angle I can't see a thing, there is no angle that will make it very bad for my X72) but I don't have any problem no matter at what angle I look so I guess if that is ok for me I won't have a problem with the Samsung right? That leaves me with: RAM, PSU, case.

I am looking for triple channel 6gb, I don't know what though. I think the Kingston hyperX 1600mhz 6GB DDR3 is around 130-140. Is that ok?What about PSU, the following seemed ok:Xilence Gaming Edition PSU (750W, SPS-XP750.CS)Corsair HX Series CMPSU-650HX 650W Modular PSUZalman ZM600-HP PSU (600W)The first 2 are 20? More than the Zalman, will they do ok? And what about noise, the site I am looking at didn't have db levels. Any personal experience?

I want it as quite as possible without sacrificing performance. What about crossfire, will the zalman handle it?Thanks and sorry for the long post! Go with a quality brand PSU like Antec, Seasonic, Corsair, Enermax. I don't know what Nexus is, so stay away!I don't like the Antec P182/3 cases because of the stupid door on the front. Hey that's just me:shiftyninja: The antec 902(has built-in cable management and dust filters which the 900 doesn't have(mine does after modding it hehehe)) or 300 are solid choices.Go for the i7 920Excellent mobo choice.

I love my P6X58D Premium mobo. Stable, loaded with features and very future proof.Go with a triple channel PC3-128000 kit. I went with Mushkin 998679.Go with whichever 5870 that's the cheapest. If you got any questions, feel free to ask:yes.

I have check my os's powersettings, driver settings etc etc, all seems fine. The cards are installed in slots PCIE1 and PCIE5 as described in the mobo manual.I don't know which one is reporting the lower values of these 2 slots.I've already tried swapping the cards between the lanes, swapping SLI bridges., all to no avail.Currently I'm at a loss on why the second card is stuck at x2. Is it possible that the PLX chip is faulty? The only other relevant info may be is that since recently, I have to overvolt the cards a bit higher than i used to do to keep them stable (running at 1.050V). They don't get hot at all at these volts.Anyone had a similar issue or know some hints on how i can get the second PCI-E slot to run in x16 mode as well? I dont think that will make any difference. Sounds stupid but have you tried putting the cards in different PCI-Ex slots?Check your manual to make sure you have the right slots for SLi and dont make a nub mistake like i did, Some manufacturers will intentionally not kit their PCI-Ex slots with the correct number of pins to save money and have a 16x run as a 8 or 4x slot.Make sure your bios is upto date, make sure your chipset drivers are the latest and youre running the latest Nvidia drivers - other then that im not sure what else there is that i can advise other than possibly RMA'n the board but we're not even sure if thats faulty.

Well, back from quite some testing. These are my findings:connecting my display to the second card (the one in PCIE5), no display gets detected at all. Trydisable spread spectrum in bios.disable C - states in bios.also the latest Bios a.t.m. Is version 1.90 - (7/23/2013),check your number.try that one or a most recent previous one.could be you are on a buggy one.I advise you try Flash on DOS, for safety reasons. Also if possible, try another SLI bridge card adapter.maybe yours is not good. Hi Dual, the replacement board was running as it should in the beginning, but after a few months the PCI-E slots got stuck at 2x speeds. So again I used the warrenty and sent it back for a replacement. Not waiting for the new board, I bought a Gigabyte G1.Sniper 3 and no SLI problems since then.Once I got the replacement board, I just sold it.I think i did damage one of my cards during my attempts to get it stable (sometimes it just disconnects and reconnects again, crashing any 3d game in progress).About warrenty, I always used the RMA procedure of the online show where I bought and never had any issues with getting a new board.
